Soaring through the Texas skies

What goes up must glide.
Local thrill seekers had a chance to spread their wings and soar Saturday
with Paraglide Texas. People got a taste of what it feels like to fly
yesterday at a paragliding workshop.
Paraglide Texas is a paragliding company in the Austin area that offers
instructional classes, equipment and tours.
People had a chance to learn more about the sport.
"It's one of the most spectacular ways to get in the air," Paul Greenwood of
Paraglide Texas said. "It's very safe actually as long as you have
instruction. It's one of the sports that is most like being a bird."
Paraglide Texas gave away tandem rides Saturday
The company said paragliding is fairly new to Austin and its popularity is
increasing, with this year attracting twice as many students than last year.
